I have learned how to deep fry beer-battered chicken.

Thanks, XKCD!

Yeah, this is pretty much exactly what it's like.

Heh. Back when I lived in a pace near a Pita Pit, the discovery that it was open till 3 a.m. just about did me in.

Ooh yes. And that's how you end up with cholesterol at 300.

Replace the X-axis title with 'The day I realized my mom stored her cooked bacon in the freezer neatly wrapped up in little travel-portion packets and I could grab some as I head out the door to work in the morning' and you've got my version of this graph :D.

I keep meaning to cook up a mess of bacon and package it away...and then I don't.

Finally a use for beer? You haven't been getting the good beers. If you get a really nice beer, it gives an excellent flavour to the sausage you cook in it, much better than water. Then there's cheese soups, most of which need beer.

For me, most alcohol tastes like gasoline, even when used in cooking. So far beer batter is the only thing that doesn't. Must be the heat or the oil.

By the time you're done cooking, there's no alcohol left in the beer.

Can you do fruitcakes? I think those are something like 90% rum.

Actually, there's usually a small amount left. Not enough for anyone to get drunk off it, but some. My dad can't eat anything that's been cooked with alcohol because of his liver.

Beer is also delicious in a beef and barley stew - particularly a porter or stout.

Don't think I've tried that. But my record with beer in soup is not great.

Also, hi! Haven't seen you in a while!

One of the VERY FEW things saving the state of my overall health is that the local Indian places don't do delivery.
