The traditional: Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, MY GOD THE YAMS, and green beans with mushrooms. Nobody drank wine because Dad’s on call, and he’s really the wine guy—I always drink grape juice anyway, like I’m Mormon or some shit, and if Dad doesn’t bring out the wine Mom forgets about it.

What did you have for dinner tonight?

(Yes, not just the US folks … I like hearing about food, okay?)

Turkey, Mashed Potatoes, some really good stuffing with lots of Pecans, Carmelized Onions, Fried Onions and Mushrooms, and lots of gravy over all of it.

I just realized that we didn't do Cornbread, which is a damn shame. I'll have to make Cornbread Muffins this weekend or something.

There were a couple of pies as well, but they went untouched. All three of us went for my Cookies instead.

That reminds me, I gotta get in on your cookie deal.

That stuffing sounds tasty! And so does cornbread. I am going to try making a tiny bit of cornbread with the corn I got from my garden. It'll be a weird color, since the corn was RAINBOW corn, but it was so much fun to grow.

Actually, looking at it now, that doesn't read quite like I meant it to. Only the Pecans were supposed to be attached to "stuffing", the rest of it was separate dishes. It was still all delicious, though.

I like the idea of Rainbow Cornbread, actually. I might have to try that sometime.
