She thinks it’s too damn cute.
Amelia, on the other hand, shrieked “EEEEEE” and immediately added it to her long list of Things She Wished She Had Thought Of First. It’s imaginative! And there's tea! And sparkly!
There was a long discussion in her blog not too long ago about the merits of adorability. I think that if there’s some intellect behind the cute (come on, a history of the alchemy of tea!) it is acceptable. Stupid kawaii for kawaii’s sake is not cool. Kawaii as a byproduct is fine.
There is something to be said for the macabre cute, which Ursula does so well. It’s like the Precious Moments crashed into The Far Side. Or Chicken Soup for the Serial Cannibal’s Soul. Or something.
Also, I wish I could draw like that.
