The lack of "give" to the Nook screen is its one drawback in my mind. An iPad is much squishier.

I prefer straight-up keyboards, guaranteeing my place in the future as a crabby nostalgic old person who will buy keyboards for BRAIN IMPLANTS. By god I didn't dodge all those Goombas in Mario Teaches Typing just to be outpaced by the upcoming telepathic word processors!

I totally agree. That's been one of the major reasons I haven't picked up a tablet of any sort yet. I've seen all sorts of keyboard add-ons for the iPad, but I kind of feel like I shouldn't have to pay fifty extra dollars to get something that should be a basic requirement.
