I thought it was Daylight Saving Time, colloquially abbreviated to Daylight Saving(')s? I don't know, we call it Summer Time where I come from.

You are correct on the official term, but I think the colloquialism is more about making it easier to get from "saving" to "time"--harder without the sound.

Yes, this was more for the poor dopes in unenlightened places where it hasn't occurred to us that we have light bulbs. Me, I'm nocturnal, so the point is moot anyway.

Ahh, yes, that's true about the sound.

What I don't understand is why our DST starts on a different day from yours.

I think Congress got a bug up their ass about it in 2005, but I don't remember why.
