[Poll #1362615]

Special Note To Pedantic Nerds: No, this is not a trick question. It’s a subjective question. We’ve all heard this phrase, but I want to know which it is in your head when you hear or say it, regardless of the official phrase.

Though I'm actually lazy (and somewhat ignorant of this practice, since it doesn't apply in Taiwan) and usually end up shortening it to "Daylight Saving" in common speech. Hey, people know what I mean.

The second one is making me twitch.

I thought it was Daylight Saving Time, colloquially abbreviated to Daylight Saving(')s? I don't know, we call it Summer Time where I come from.

You are correct on the official term, but I think the colloquialism is more about making it easier to get from "saving" to "time"--harder without the sound.

Yes, this was more for the poor dopes in unenlightened places where it hasn't occurred to us that we have light bulbs. Me, I'm nocturnal, so the point is moot anyway.

Ahh, yes, that's true about the sound.

What I don't understand is why our DST starts on a different day from yours.

I think Congress got a bug up their ass about it in 2005, but I don't remember why.

I said the bottom one, even though I know it's incorrect, and here's why:
Every time we talk about Daylight Savings I always feel like I'm being robbed of, or charitably given, an extra hour, as if time wasn't mine to begin with.
That's why--in my mind--time apparently belongs to some guy named Daylight Savings, who likes to fuck with us by ruining everybody's internal clock.

I've read your above post, but I think I'm pretty much disqualified. We don't mess with that clock changing nonsense.

Yeah... In Arizona we call it "that day when cable TV shows change times". I can never keep track of whether we're on Mountain or Pacific time. :/

Well, with the apostrophe, I keep reading it as "Daylight Saving Is Time". Although somehow I'm sure that could make sense, I don't believe it's right.

I voted Daylight Savings Time.

I answered, but what's actually in my head is "why are we doing this again" and "fuck, not this shit again."

And I don't normally curse. Except in my blog. I curse more there than I do anywhere else. heh.
