Last year I had the poor judgment to get my usual short-short pixie cut on October 11, which caused some confusion. But anyway! Yay for those of you struggling with social stigmas ~ may people stop being morons and realize that s'all good.

For the record, tomorrow is International Moment of Frustration Scream Day, according to holidays.net. Not quite as cool as International Talk Like A Pirate Day, but you take what you can get.

And I don't know if people count Yom Kippur as being tomorrow or the next day, since it starts at sundown. And I can't really say "Happy Yom Kippur," since it's a day of atonement, or "May G-d forgive you," since I'm an atheist and think a lot of religion is nonsense, but I hope that your reflections are fruitful and that you find it satisfying, whatever that means to you.

Say Good Yontev, which means like, have a good holiday. And May god forgive you sounds very catholic 0.0. Good Yontev is like Yiddish English, I think. The way they say Good Shabbos. Also Yiddish-English. Also, Thursday is Yom Kippur. We just think that Thursday starts and ends at 7 pm. 0.0

Heh. Thanks for setting me straight. Like I said, I don't know enough about any religion; I just know what I have looked up for myself, and the general idea that I got was that one is atoning for one's sins and asking forgiveness of god, but I'm not sure how to say that. Shades of my parents' past coming through again, apparently.

Anyway, Good Yontev, then!

Haha, well the deal with Yom Kippur is to ask OTHER people forgiveness, because tradition holds that god is always forgiving but that god cannot forgive you lest you try to gain forgiveness from the people that you've hurt accidentally/on purpose. So most everyone says to their family--please forgive me for anything I've done, and people are like, yeah I forgive you even though I can't actually remember you having done anything. Really it's a day to reflect on your life and think, is everything going how I want it to? If not, why not, and how can I change? it's pretty cool...

Well, that does sound good, having been very frustrated about various things recently. *makes note in planner: scream loudly in 6th period tomorrow*
