I love that my sister is two states and a time zone away and yet I can still just be like, "Hey, wanna watch a movie tonight?" and then we can sit and eat popcorn and snark about it. The future is GREAT.

(Also, Frozen has broken us forever. Whether in person or on chat, every time we want to hang out together one of us'll start ad libbing lyrics to "Do You Want To Build A Snowman?" We're pretty good at it, too.)

My two-year-old has started ad-libbing "Do You Want to Build a Snowman?" variations with me, too... She's not very good at it, but it's hilarious.

Frozen has its issues, but I'm pretty sure I will always love Do You Want to Build a Snowman and Let It Go :D

I should make/get a Frozen icon. This is the only winter-related one I have ;)

I am an unapologetic Frozen evangelist, myself.

There's always this icon!

I try to keep myself using "problematic" not to mean "bad and avoid it", but, well, that it has problems, as well as good stuff. In other words, I certainly enjoyed it, but I would have preferred if Kristoff and more of the background characters were more obviously Saami, rather than nordic-looking white folks wearing Saami clothes. And more variation in the female models, like the males have. And more interaction between Elsa and Anna. And tightening up the pacing in a few places. Stuff like that.

Ooh, that icon is great! Now I just need to hunt up one with both of them :)

Nah, I got you--and I have a few thoughts of my own. (I have a whole alternate storyline for Hans that would make him misguided but not a straight villain, that I rather prefer, because I like the idea of subverting that as well. Even though it's fun to see how they did try to make him a sociopath.)

I will tell you an embarrassing secret: For some reason, I really hate the word "problematic." I have no idea why, because the idea behind it is something I agree with (saying you recognize something you like has things that bother you), but ... ugh, something about it just makes me want to go all "A BAT CREDIT CARD?!?!?!" when I read it. It's extremely weird. But I do agree with you on the Saami thing!

I know how that goes. Some of the most innocuous words get really strong reactions from me. I can't stand the word "snack", for instance. Bugs the shit out of me, and I have no idea why :P

Thanks for the Icons!
