EDIT: Got it! That went faster than I expected.

I was going to post more Scatterstone today, but as I work on it, I'm getting more certain that the segments I was going to use in Part 4 need to be in Part 3. Dividing things into installments is an interesting new experience, I must say.

Anyway, I'll get right on it!

It's amazing how much the format can change the needs of a story, isn't it? I've been running across a somewhat different example over on Tumblr, where I have a role-playing blog, and because I only really get a couple of paragraphs before I hand things back to my partner, I really have to make sure I'm getting something important in every time, rather than letting some stuff sit that I would hold back for a gradual reveal if I were writing the story by myself.

Why, what's this about an RP blog?

Part of my reason for wanting to try the blog was to get a bit more regular with my writing. I usually do it in bursts, but I rarely give myself deadlines. Now that I have told myself I'm going to post SOMETHING each week, it's keeping me focused. And deciding where chapter breaks go is new to me--I tend to do the Terry Pratchett thing and just write through a story without 'em. It does make me stop and ask whethet the suspense would be effective at any point.

Anyway, I got it figured this time. I think the fourth installment will be rather short, too, but hey, things are picking up!

A friend of mine over there talked me into starting a blog* for a Buffy RP group she's part of. I'm having a lot of fun with it even if it has been going really slowly. We've covered like an hour or two of in character time since I started it to keep me awake on Longest Night.

*I didn't actually take much convincing. I'd been thinking about it anyhow, since I follow like half of her RP group, and it seemed fun.

Cool! I might have to investigate Buffy a bit more--I only know a little about it.

It's not to everyone's taste, but it's definitely a well done show, with some great stuff in it. I got completely sucked into it, myself, blew through all 144 episodes in about 3 months.
