Some well-meaning soul has been leaving Chick Tracts in the nooks and crannies of the Liberry. I keep finding them tucked next to the catalogs or on the edges of tables. So far I have not yet been convinced to be saved, but I have been haunted by that weird feeling you get when something from the Land Of Internet Crazies manifests in the physical world. Sorry, mystery evangelist. Probably not what you were going for.

I was trying to explain them to my coworkers, without much success. "... And they've got an ironic cult following, mostly because one is about how Dungeons & Dragons leads directly to actual sorcery and suicide." I'm not sure they followed.

This is a Cultural!Thing! I am completely unaware of. So having a moment of "wait, what?!" followed quickly by "if this is real, can you send me one of these?" Considering my gaming group is also almost entirely made up of TCKs like myself, I doubt they know what it is, either, and thus I feel the need to share...

*grin* Welcome to the inexplicable, crazy awfulness of Chick Tracts, featuring Dark Dungeons.

You can cruise the rest of the site, where more tracts are published in their entirety, but if you're like me you start to feel kind of dirty after one or two of his badly drawn and condescending arguments against homosexuality, evolution, Islam, Catholicism, Halloween, Santa Claus, and pretty much everybody.

The first time I got hold of a Chick Tract, I thought it was a joke. Then someone explained to me that people really believe those things, I was very, very sad.
