Doing a bit of WiiFit tonight and realizing—I’d probably have been a lot more interested in physical fitness if the school gym had been set up more like Legends of the Hidden Temple. Gimme a vague plot and a goal and I will do your damn pull-ups.

Although I suppose getting enough money to make the SHRIIIIIINE of the Silver Monkey would have taken much-needed money away from other important high school projects, such as sending the football team all over the country and buying a large electronic marquis because our rivals did. But I can dream.

That bloody, bloody marquis. Did they get that the year you graduated? I thought I remembered it being the subsequent year, but it was probably some other stupid thing that left us no money whatsoever for the various school plays. (I remember Thompson mocking us in Satorian for thinking that the drama department could possibly need money. Presumably as opposed to throwing it all at the football team.)

I think it was my year, because I do recall being rather indignant about it. Did they ever construct that climbing wall that was supposed to be the senior gift after that? I'd say that's a MUCH better choice--it WAS, in fact, rather Legends-like.

Wait, the WiiFit has a plot to go along with the exercise? ...that might tip the balance on us getting it!

Alas, no. I wish it did, but I was thinking that Legends had a vague Raiders-of-the-Lost-Ark plot. Although now I think of it, I would not be averse to a WiiFit version of Legends of the Hidden Temple, either. It's just got a few weird balance games.

That stupid shrine! It only has THREE PIECES, and yet they always got stuck in that room. How can it be that hard to put it together?!

I know, right? HOW HARD CAN IT BE?

I would have been AWESOME at the shrine. But I would have peed myself if a temple guard got me, no doubt about it.

Hell yes, they scared me through the TV. But it's moot--I would never have made it that far, anyway. I'd have fallen into the Pit of the Pendulum and floundered for three straight minutes.

I probably wouldn't have made it past the first challenge, to be honest. But the quiz thing with the stair steps? I'd be all over that one.

Related to the second half of your entry - have you seen this PhDcomic? (And then sort of related to that, this one.)
