MOM: Your dad and I can’t stop reading about and watching footage of the Japanese tsunami. I don’t know … I guess in some way it feels like, if I worry about it, it will help somehow.
AMELIA: And thus was prayer born.
Anyone have any links to somewhere I can send money? The Captain Atom Containment Fund, perhaps? Or just Food And Blankets For Just Such An Emergency Foundation? I want to do more than just sit and worry, but it's hard to be useful from half a world away.

Date: 2011-03-13 03:11 pm (UTC)My favorite thing about BGR is they don't up and leave a disaster area after the press does, or even when another disaster that seems "more pressing" happens (they just make another team for that, as well). Through BGR I do volunteer work every week to help with on-going efforts in Chengdu/Sichuan, China, even though the massive 8.0 earthquake (which then caused massive mudslides) happened in 2008.
