Hokay, here’s what I got so far. (Y’all are welcome to ask me about other fandoms here!
For reference, here’s what each one stands for:
1. The character I first fell in love with
2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now
3. The character everyone else loves that I don't
4. The character I love that everyone else hates
5. The character I used to love but don't any longer
6. The character I would shag anytime
7. The character I'd want to be like
8. The character I'd slap
9. A pairing that I love
10. A pairing that I despise
11. Favorite character
12. My five favorite characters
13. My five least favorite characters
14. Which character I am most like
15. My deep, dark fandom secret
10cents asks me about Doctor Who!
1. The 9th Doctor, really, although nowadays I’m torn between him and Ten.
2. Ten. I got to the end of Nine’s run and was thinking “Who’s this little twerp?” Also Donna.
3. The Master. It’s the classic “Oh, it’s a Master episode” groan with me.
4. Ten. I know he’s fallen out of favor with the masses, but he always makes me want to hug him and squeeze him and call him George. And after someone suggested that Ten’s regeneration went wrong and gave him a crazy TimeLord mental illness, I am even more in love.
5. Hrrm. There’s no one in this fandom I’ve really stopped loving, although anyone who’s been GONE/DED FOR GOOD and then come back many times gets a little old. Rose, the Daleks, the Master ...
6. Captain Jack, I suppose.
7. Donna, no question. She was one of the few characters who were not villainous villains and yet who argued with the Doctor, and she’s more mature than the other companions. In my universe things stopped just before the end of Season 4, she became a Time Lord Human, and she became a friend and sometimes-antagonist of the Doctor.
8. Also Captain Jack. And Ten, quite often.
9. Jack/everyone
10. Doctor/Companion.
11. Donna and Ten
12. What, other than the ones in #11 there? Okay: The angel statues, Four, Nine, Sally Sparrow (THAT WAS AWESOME OKAY?), the Face of Boe
13. The Master, Donna’s mother, anyone from Torchwood, K-9, the giant plastic time beetles
14. Some days it feels like I’m most like Jamie The Zombie Gas Mask Kid, but I think I’m mostly like Donna. I hope so, anyway.
15.I have only seen series 1-4 of New Who and very little Classic. The really awful part is that I’m fine with that.
renshai suggests, surprisingly enough, Star Wars!
1. Artoo. Gimme a break, I was nine.
2. Admiral Ackbar. SHUT UP, YOU. Kevin J. Anderson writes him beautifully.
3. Not so much a character here as an author: Timothy Zahn. His take on pretty much ever character except maybe Luke irritates the fuck out of me, and don’t even get me started on Mara Jade.
4. Jabba the Goddamn Hutt. I fucking love Jabba. He’s a terrific character and got a lot more mad style points than any other villain.
5. Anakin Skywalker. He was so much better before the prequels.
6. Lando Calrissian. Or Wedge Antilles.
7. Any of the Solo clan.
8. Once again, not a character, but whoever was in charge of making Jacen Solo’s ultimate story arc. THE FUCK, DUDES.
9. Ackbar/Winter. It is SO THERE. Don’t flippin’ deny it.
10. Luke/Mara.
11. Han Solo
12. I stick with the classics! Luke, Leia, Lando, Chewie, Vader
13. Mara Jade, Xizor, Corran Horn, Boba Fett, Callista WHAT WAS UP WITH THAT?
14. Honestly? Probably Wicket.
15. Okay, here goes. You know how every Star Wars fan has a canon cutoff point?* Mine is mid-1996. Yes, that’s right, goddamn: everything published after the middle of 1996, with the possible exception of AC Crispin’s Han Solo Trilogy and the Young Jedi Knights,** does not count. And yes, at this point that’s a much smaller timeline than the EU has going right now. Deal with it.
gwalla thinks he can stump me with MST3k!
1. Mike Nelson. I saw the movie first, yes.
2. Joel, actually. Whichever host you start with usually winds up being the favorite, but I honestly can’t decide.
3. On MST? There is no such thing.
4. Larry. He was no TV’s Frank, but for a 17-year-old he pulled it off pretty well.
5. Jan in the Pan. After a while she starts to grate on you.
6. … Okay, you got me on this one.
7. Gypsy.
8. Mr. B. Natural. Just before I killed, uh, it? Him? Her? with fire.
9. Dr. Forrester/TV’s Frank. It’s practically acknowledged!
10. Any pairing of the smarmy 50’s B-Movie Hero with The Woman. She always winds up getting short shrift.
11. Pearl. Mmm, Chicken In A Biskit.
12. Mike, Joel, Servo, Crow, The Mads (AHA! That’s everyone!)
13. Joe Don Baker, Donald Pleasence, Coleman Francis, Sandy Frank, Jack Perkins
14. Observer. I’m an omniscient idiot, and some days I do feel like I’m carrying my brain in a salad bowl.
15. I can’t watch the KTMAs. They’re boring and kinda pointless.
*Go ahead, ask any fan when things stop being canon. I guarantee you there will be one.
**They get by because they started before 1996, and are by Kevin J Anderson. If both of these criteria are not met, it does not get in.

Date: 2010-03-02 02:15 am (UTC)And since it was past 3 a.m when I replied to you last night, and didn't quite comprehend the thing . . . is it too late to ask you about Star Trek? XD
and come on, you wouldn't shag Servo :P

Date: 2010-03-02 03:38 am (UTC)I kept up with the overview of the EU out of train-wreck fascination, but I just can't bring myself to read anymore. I mean, their latest is that the Dark Side is some sort of dementia? WHO IS IN CHARGE HERE AND HOW DO I GO ABOUT SMACKING THEM WITH A CRICKET BAT.
I'll do Star Trek in a later post!
*We are going to assume that that one sketch from Experiment #612 was completely innocent.
It's a traaaaaap.
Date: 2010-03-02 02:48 am (UTC)Also, I have never successfully finished a Timothy Zahn novel, and my brother calls Darth Caedus "Darth Kittypuss" which might give you an idea of his opinion of the New Jedi Order books.
Also also - The Angel Statues = bloody terrifying, thank you very much.
*stealthily adds comment to original post - no, really, it was there the whole time, it was just masked by...uh...darkness. yes.*

Date: 2010-03-02 06:54 am (UTC)I need elaboration on this, please and thank you. (Your DoctorDonna alternate reality is the new canon, as far as I'm concerned. I do not accept what they did to her. Mental rape, ugh.)
