Had a truly inexplicable dream last night about interstellar sex colleges. I'm not ever sure what that means, but my god would Freud dance and celebrate at the content of it.
On a whim I looked up "The Day Dad Made Toast" on iTunes. Nothing came of it, but I am not defeated. One day I shall find that and give it to Mom, and we will laugh at it all over again.
Our wands came yesterday. I recommended to Liz and Emily that we study for the opening of Goblet of Fire, so that when we go to the theater we can cast some spells on each other and pretend that they really work. I refuse to barf slugs, but I may be able to do a convincing Petrificus Totallus. So far, though, I'm mainly using it to study Japanese by writing kanji in the air with it. I was whupped by a quiz on it today, which doesn't usually happen, and I'd like to rectify that as soon as possible.
Also yesterday Clara and I picked up our mugs from Brushfire. I painted my little rock-art mermaid* on mine, and Clara did an interesting abstract design with a lot of colors that looks like one of those things Cody used to do. I’d forgotten how self-conscious people get the first time they go to a ceramic-painting place. I’ve gone often enough that I’ve given up on feeling bad about it—I think all that it takes is a little practice. We also dropped into the art supply store next to it, which had adorable tiny origami paper and Sheaffer cartridges. I also picked up a book on drawing, since I have an extremely ambitious picture in mind of the main crew of the Red Sabre ca. 2008 or so. That’s … lessee … eleven people. Twelve, if I decide that Delilah and Druce had the baby.** I need all the help I can get.
Better grab my wand.
*Tentatively named !aa*a-aa (‘balance’ in Hu*eetp, a lot you care), or Kiapolō for people who don’t feel like pronouncing clicks and whistles.
**Judging by how it’s brought up, this is going to be one interesting baby.
