You know the REALLY funny thing?
Last Saturday I finally found a book I've been wanting to read for years now: Spider Robinson's Callahan Chronicals. (3 books in one! WOO!)
It figures that this of all weeks would be the one where I start reading a 35-year-old book whose basic premise is that a bunch of guys sit around talking about their FEEEELINGS, don't it?

Date: 2009-10-15 06:23 am (UTC)Hell, no one can convince me that The Left Hand of Darkness is NOT a tremendously badass book, and it's got a grand total of one gendered character and the whole premise is people trying to understand each other.
... The more I think about it, the more narrow that ranting guy's idea of sci-fi is. I'm starting to feel sorry for him.
