By the way: it has come to my attention that those of you without LJ accounts to log into will now be seeing ads on my page. Alas, there is naught I can do about it, but I thought I’d give y’all a heads-up. And I actually understand—I really wanted to keep this thing ad-free, but this seems like a fair enough compromise. I just hope the ads aren’t for something I can’t stand.

You'll get used to them! I switched over to the ad-version a long time ago and didn't realize it until a few weeks ago when I saw I had more spaces for icons. I passed right over the ads for that long without really noticing, so they must not be too bothersome.

yeah, I'd upgrade if only they'd let me pick the ads they put up... or at least veto ones I can't approve of.
