Good To See The Lakitu Bros. Getting Work
Aug. 22nd, 2012 10:40 pmWatching The Hunger Games. I hadn't really planned to--dystopia is Not My Thing--but my sister Netflixed it, so why the heck not. I'm kind of in love with Jennifer Lawrence.
I'm beginning to suspect they blew their camera equipment budget on Stanley Tucci's wig, though. It appears that all the cameras are mounted on fishing poles, and some weak-armed intern is holding the rod by its very tip like some idiot waving a piñata around at a birthday party. Hell, I sat through Cloverfield with nary a flutter, and yet this movie's making me dizzy.
On the other hand, I know it's supposed to show the totally decadent evils of The Capitol, but in a non-dystopian sci-fi setting, hell yes I would embrace the insane aesthetic they've got going. That shit is ridiculously fun.
ETA: My sister on the actual Games part: "This is how recess was for a while in sixth grade."
