Paid five bucks for a hard cider tonight to celebrate Liz’s birthday.  I drank perhaps an eighth of an ounce.

I am a tough guy.

Josh made fun of me because he explained as I tried it, “It’s apple beer!” and I made a face and said, “Yeah, only with beer in it.” I like apple beer, but I’m talking about the soda stuff, so it made sense to me.

And I would like to say to Ally and Emily that they missed perhaps two minutes of quality burlesque tonight. They were nowhere near on par with those gals from last year, and only one of the dancers seemed to be any good. We left early.

It also seems that twelve molecules of hard cider is enough to make Amelia sleepy.  Or it could be that it’s three in the morning.  Either way, I’m going to bed.

Oh, great.

It’s like everything stupid has coalesced into one putrid mass of destructive, disastrous idiocy.

A few revealing quotes:

“Are you ready to be a man? Are you ready to kick ass? Are you ready to grab your sword and say, ‘OK family, I’m going to lead you?’ Buckle up. This is GodMen!” – Christian Comedian Brad Stine psyching men up to take back the patriarchy.

Their purpose: to reassert masculinity within a church structure that they say has been weakened by feminization. – I had all sorts of clever things to say about “damn those women and their cry against being unappreciated, insulted, and devalued!”, but I can’t get past the looming Mount Doom that is exactly how much is wrong with the concept of “weakened by feminization.”

“No more nice guy, timid and ashamed/ We’ve had enough, cowboy up/ In the power of Jesus name/ Welcome to the battle/ A million men have got your back/ Jump up in the saddle/ Grab a sword, don’t be scared/ Be a man, grow a pair!” – Words to “Grow A Pair,” which may be a rewrite of a marching song from the Crusades.

This is what I get for clicking links to Newsweek.
