Right, so this week I’ve given up on Using My Brain to solve these bloody linguistics assignments. This week’s uncrackable language is Tibetan. I don’t know much about Tibetan. It is Professor’s pet language, but I rarely know what he’s going on about. So instead I downloaded a 72-page PDF of Tibetan grammar and vocabulary, and am using that as a reference. Since it only serves to translate the inexplicable lecture notes Professor has already given us, I find it fair game.
My head is swimming with languages. Last night I started translating my letter to my hypothetical Kenya homestay family into Swahili. I could use some more study. But if I suddenly start kuandika kwa 言語 varias—oh, bugger. Too late.
