I keep starting an entry and realizing it’s boring. It’s been a sand-shoveling couple of weeks with very little in the way of interesting events, but I have done a few projects. So instead of boring you with a long entry,  I will give you the illustrated version of my week or so:

WARNING: The Surgeon General has determined that the following entry contains dolls. Pediophobes are warned away from the cut.

After watching Mom do it for years, I finally started making my own quilts. Mom’s been helping me do a simple one for myself from a kit—it’s supposed to be a wall hanging, but we added sashing and borders, and made it a full-size. Only the cover’s done on that one. This one is a tiny, doll-sized quilt I made for, well, one of my dolls. They’re good practice, and they’re also fun to do. After I finish my own big one I plan to do a WWII vintage and a Hawaiian-style, but that’ll probably be a while away, since I’m going to FUCKING KENYA in a month.

My books! Let me show you them! I’m cramming with the Swahili; so far I’m just perusing the Klingon. The bottom half there is one of my handy sci-fi cookbooks, and the trusty calcumalator that helps me with my astrophysics. And there are four of my Hitchhiker’s Guides (that there’s a diagram of various bits of ear jewelry in the open one.)

And finally, meet Danny! I got him off of Ebay and hacked up his wig a few days ago. Since I was nine I’ve wanted to make my doll Amber a twin brother—the dolls are androgynous enough that a haircut could make them look like little boys. So that’s what I did.

And there you have it—a nice summation of my whole damn week. I bet you wish your life were this exciting.

I have that same edition of A Little Princess, but mine's all water damaged because my brilliant mother loaned it to a six year old one day without telling me.

Danny has voluptuous hips.

Danny has rather bunchy boxers on under there. I gotta get him some briefs.

My edition's a bit damaged, as well. It's well-loved.

... I totally stole your book from school. Crap. I'll bring it back with me! I promise!

What book would that be?

"Under the Black Flag"--wait... is that another copy in the picture there?

That's a copy I've had for some time. I think somebody (Emily?) tried to give me that copy in your room, but I told her I'd already got one.

So I guess it's yours. Lucky you!

Quilts! Yay quilts! (I quilt too but only occasionally -- as in, I make quilts for occasions.)

That quilt is beautiful! I'm jealous of the doll who gets to snuggle in it. Nice work on Danny's hair. It looks very nice. I was hoping you were going to post pictures. Did you get all your clay items set up with your dolls?
