I am curious though - why midterms and not finals? Are you on a quarter or six-week system?

I just finished grading my finals. It took an iced mocha and two cups of chamomile tea. I had to get off the stimulants when I found myself wanting to stab myself in the eye. Six students wrote essays that were word-for-word from Wikipedia, two tried to fake it on readings-based questions, and then there was the student who had one of those only-on-finals emergencies. Sigh.

Tomorrow I get chocolate, and then on payday I get something new for Kaya, so it's all good.

A Week Later

I seem to have missed this comment somehow. I'm at the U of Oregon, which has its own concept of spacetime and term system. I am about 2/3 of the way through the term, getting out in mid-June. I'd grumble, but I don't START the year until the beginning of October, so that evens out. It makes finding a job for the summer hard, though.

I don't envy you people who grade. I try to be a good student (no plagiarism, have at least a nodding acquaintance with the readings, etc.), and MY school writing sucks. And for one class this term I seem to have solved the linguistics problem completely upside-down and backwards, which should be fun for her to work out.

Once I had to reschedule a final on account of having to appear in court. That was fun. :p
