When you’re typing up a story or revising the hell out of something, there’s nothing like turning on a David Attenborough special to keep you company while you do so. Because you can ignore it all you want and it’s like soothing white noise, and when you look up for a moment’s rest you can amuse yourself watching golden moles scoot around in the sand like Bugs Bunny or secretly cheer at the Worst Ungulate Crashes Of The Serengeti.*
Also, flies zooming by the microphone in surround sound are a hell of an experience.
I’m a dreadful scientist, but armchair biology is high on my list of hobbies.
*You can cheer, I mean. Presumably the golden moles, who can’t see, don’t care.
