Anybody out there a big fan of Mannheim Steamroller? I myself love the Fresh Aire series, as well as a great deal of the ubiquitous Christmas music. So I thought I’d let y’all know that they’re getting revved up to do a new Christmas/holiday album, and—here’s the important part—right now they’re taking votes for what songs they should put on them. So, fans out there, do you have any particular goddamn favorite Christmuhannukwanzuka-yule song you want Steamrolled? I can say from experience that if a song is chosen, it has about a 75% chance of becoming kickass or just very brilliantly interpreted, depending on the whims of Chip Davis.

 

I can also say from experience that it’s altogether possible that voting and entering your e-mail address means that when the CD gets produced—which may be some time—you could get a free copy.

 

Local Announcement For Anyone Who’s Admired My Jewelry

 

To anyone in the UO area, the UO Bookstore will be (unless it already is) selling Zulugrass in the sportswear department for half-price, at $4 a strand. It’s really awesome stuff! Very pretty and colorful and shiny and you can do that thing where you twist it over your fingers and it looks awesome, and it helps Maasai women buy cows! Hooray!

 

People who may or may not be gondolinchick01, who are not in the vicinity of the UO Bookstore, may be able to offer me money in exchange for the stuff, but as I’m leery about sending out my address over the internetz I may panic and retract that offer …

And one last thing! I am always looking for a way to expand my horizons, and meet new people, even if they only exist in my computabox. Therefore, I would like to ask all of you: is there somebody on your friends list you feel I should be reading?  Maybe several? Anyone you think I’d totally love, or whose blog everyone should read? If so, please! Recommendations are welcome!  Who do you think I could do with reading more of?
