The trick with showing people the Sun for public nights (days) are coming up with ways (like this) to keep them from looking through the eyepiece.
The university I work at has a solar filter for one of our scopes, which is nice, but leads to 'you can look through this telescope, but the others will burn your eyeballs out, so look at the screen'. Also, long lines: a nice thing about solar viewing is that a screen means people can see things from far away.
(Now, I'm wondering if the Moon is bright enough to show up in that helioscope.)
