I love hearing people sharing memories of historic events. Like, you know, that one from fifty years ago.

I get discouraged realizing how much things still suck. But then I'm reminded these people were THERE; they remember how bad things USED to be--and that means that it's only been one short generation since things were that bad. Given how many generations social change can take, I think we're making progress. We've just got to keep going in the right direction.

Lot of folks trying to yank things back to before 50 years ago. It's heartbreaking and infuriating how many people are trying to take rights away.
