He does back and neck surgeries. The patient was scheduled to have one, but came down with some kind of infection. It's inadvisable to have surgery done when you're awash in bacteria and your immune system is compromised, not to mention how much unpleasantness it adds to recovery time even if you DON'T get an infection, so we had to put it off until this clears up.
We were just glad she didn't try to insist on having the surgery ANYWAY. Usually in this sort of case we have to talk people OUT of going ahead with the operation.
