The characters are terrific. I also like that it actually solves some of its mysteries--Sure, there's an overarching plotline, but I got bugged with the X-Files because they never actually figured anything out--they just ran around going "What the hell was that?!" and the Monster-of-the-Week episodes invariably ended with the monster either Still Out There, or at best temporarily inconvenienced.
