The Desert Mermaid

For a while, I had a self-domesticated spider making its home on the windowsill above the kitchen sink, presumably because there was a ready supply of fruit flies there... and then one day I looked and it had ditched its post. Tsk. (Then again, there aren't as many fruit flies around now as there were when it was still warm, so maybe it just went looking for better hunting grounds.)
