This is making me want to post about one of my conlangs again! Well, this and the fact that I've been working on it again lately (prosody is fun!) and writing about it may help me puzzle out some aspects of orthography.
Speaking of which, I know you've said before that you find Tolkein's languages ugly when written. What are your impressions of French and Irish Gaelic?
