I don't think it's a bad thing and didn't say it was. I think it's like DDR in that it's going to get a non-exercising gamer up and about, and I think that's definitely better than nothing! I just hope that people will use it as a stepping stone to a genuine interest in fitness rather than as the foundation of their interest in it.
Ironically, opposite of your experiences, I've had friends get into DDR or WiiFit and be disappointed because they think that casual use of games like that is all they needed to get in shape, and it didn't work out for them. I just wouldn't want people putting all their eggs in one video game basket, so to speak.
