Dear 2,000 or so loud schmucks in the neighboring apartment:

 

Allow me to introduce you to a pair of friends of mine.  This is the big hand, and this is the little hand. They tell you what time it is. See the little hand? It is currently pointing at Very Late. And the big hand’s position? It is indicating that it is Even Later Than That.

 

In case you were wondering, Very Late is the time that you are supposed to cease shouting around other people’s windows.

 

I don’t suppose I could politely get you to pipe the blinking blue blazes down, could I?
