Improperly Used Technology Can Be Unsafe
Feb. 7th, 2014 11:22 pmHow To Scare The Hell Out Of Yourself: buy something on a website, pay for it, and then browse around and notice that the shopping cart lists a similar item as being almost TWENTY-THOUSAND DOLLARS.
Holy SHIT.
Now yeah, I'm careful when paying money online, so when I obsessively rechecked my receipt a few times I got the correct, non-terrifying price. But in the meantime, YEEEIKES what an adrenalin rush.
I sent the site admin a note letting them know, because clearly it's an honest typo that could be pretty costly. So with luck I've averted a more serious adrenalin surge for someone else. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go make myself some Calm Me The Fuck Down Tea. And check that receipt one more time.
