All The Thumbs Up!

I just want y'all to know that Attack the Block is one of the best science fiction films I have ever seen. The hell with Avatar and whatnot; give me the intelligence and depth of character you get when you pit a gang of South London teenagers, the lady they've just mugged, and their drug dealer against some big fuzzy aliens. The climax had both my sister and me spellbound by its brilliance.* And the composition in the entire film was incredible.

I also firmly believe that there needs to be an award for Best Use Of One Goddamn Hallway.** Along with Best Hero and Best Actor Who Played Him, among many many others.

Look, just go watch it. You won't regret it.


*Mom, on the other hand, fell asleep. She's the kind of person who could sleep through Transformers.
