The Outsides
Jun. 10th, 2009 06:55 pmThe adventures in The Outsides continues today with the family’s second bike ride—the second ride of this trip that, incidentally, I didn’t go on. I used to be a total biker bum in my silly teenage years, until it occurred to me that I wasn’t really interested in causing that much pain to my knees.
So Mom and I drove around to the pickup point and took pictures and poked around a creek and chased lizards all afternoon. I have red dirt all over my shoes, which is an important way to break in shoes.
I do, however, have some photos to share with y’all, even if breathtaking panoramas where you're standing up 2000 feet above the canyon floor and can see for fifty miles don’t translate well to 5x7 snapshots. I will put them up forthwith, which means when I get home because the wireless here in The Wilderness is not all it’s cracked up to be. Which also means that I haven’t been online enough to read my flist. So, once again, I’ll probably be demanding to know what I missed when I get back to The Real World* on Friday.
*The one with internet.
