bloodyrosemccoy: Beast from X-Men at the computer, grinning wickedly (Beastly)
Having seen this, I believe it is high time every single major news network, as well as local organizations and pundits, need to hire at least one out-of-shape twentysomething homebody with large glasses, whose entire job would be to glance over anything the company writes featuring The Internet so that they will not make complete idiots of themselves.

Granted, the Fox report is partly on 4chan’s /b/ board, which is another group of people who devote extensive amounts of time to making complete idiots of themselves, but I’ve noticed that news organizations have never been very good at starving the trolls, as evidenced by their willingness to conduct serious interviews with people like Fred Phelps’s wife.

Look, we're all worried about the job market, right? I'd say that hiring a bunch of trollspotters would be a good way to create jobs for America's youth. News organizations, I await your call.

I'll work for anyone but Fox. They deserve every troll they get.

*At least not with regard to the internet.

Had a good time today. [livejournal.com profile] gondolinchick01 and I went to the ceramics painting studio, since I have recently acquired some loose leaf tea and need a teapot. (And I want more! Hey, [livejournal.com profile] xaandria, what’s that tea place you were into a while back?) So I painted a wonderfully silly one, and [livejournal.com profile] gondolinchick01 did a cool little Useful Pot To Put Things In. (And she didn’t get self-conscious like most of my friends seem to when they first try to paint ceramics, before they realize that you just make it up as you go along.)

The only problem with those places is that you gotta wait for your fabulous art to bake. I will see my silly teapot on Monday!

I also got to chat with both Liz and Lychee tonight! We traded news and videos and Lychee even let me carry on about My Thoughts On The Joker for a while and sent me a cool article on him. (She also sent me toward pointless adorable cat manga, which I can totally get behind.) And I showed both of them the now-infamous Saturday Morning Watchmen,* which led to the following exchange:

LIZ: I don’t think I could make it through a full episode of this.
AMELIA: … You watched the entire X-Men Animated Series in three days.

So not a bad day, except now I’m having the nightly panic attack. Fortunately, bits of Mike and Joel and the bots have made it back to the internet. They’re as good illusory company as David Attenborough,** so I can feel like I have friends while I fret. Fortunately, tomorrow’s my Last Day at the preschool, because I don’t need to take bullshit even from toddlers while all this is going down. Maybe I could volunteer to, I don’t know, spread mulch or something. As long as there are no other people around, all will be well.

And yes, there will be pictures of the silly teapot. Since I love you guys that much.

*My brother loved this. Regardless of how into Watchmen you are, if you grew up on Saturday morning cartoons, you will double over laughing. KEYTAR.

**Not good illusory company for a panic attack: Detective Elliot Stabler. Also the Tenth Doctor, who is cuddly but not exactly soothing.
