The Tragic Lives Of The Rich
Feb. 10th, 2009 10:23 pmI was all ready to see if New York had some sort of cost-of-your-average-middle-class-living problem, but it turns out this NY Times article is just about how it’s expensive to keep up a lifestyle featuring private schools, a nanny, two houses, chauffeurs/bodyguards, several ridiculously overpriced dresses per year, and other such necessities.
Notice my sympathetic face here.
It’s starting to sound, to me, like we really need to fix the mindset these people are in, and I’m not sure how to do that gently. And hell, I’m not sure I want to do it gently, but when people start to panic about losing the means to buy thousand-dollar dresses, I’d say it points to some serious issues we may have to work out the hard way.
