Last night Mom and I tried Plan A for my Halloween costume, which involved dyeing a large garment a mind-bending shade of slime green. The dye didn’t take on the fabric, but now my hands are stained a fantastic greenish color and it’s like I’m trying to turn into the Hulk.
It was an evening well-spent.
… Yeah, so I’m trying Plan B, which is sewing the whole damn thing. Good thing I finally caved and am starting a sewing class tonight, innit? I went out and bought some hideous slime green fabric to start with. The store was having a big ol' Event to get people jump-started on their Christmas quilt projects, so everyone was wearing antlers and red and green garlands and there was a tree up and carols were playing. This seemed to severely piss off one of the ladies shopping there, because when I noted I was going to have "Silent Night" stuck in my head all day rejoined with "They are seriously playing Christmas music. It's making me want to take my business somewhere else!" I gave her a stare and a "Really?" and went back to perusing the fat quarters.
The weather was really brilliant today, dudes. Yeah, I know, who talks about the weather, but hot damn the sun and the wind and the lighting and the temperature is just fantastic.

kittikattie’s birthday! Let us all join in sending her cake and presents and balloons and things. Only don’t send her cake with any chocolate in it, unless you mean to kill her, you ruthless bastards.
