Made it back!

 

What a depressing trip. First we dumped the Dude off at school, then visited my still-dying grandmother and her family. It was nice to see the rest of the family—and meeting my eight-month-old first cousin once removed. But it was difficult to see Grandma so miserable. How do you cheer up someone like that?

 

I did get her address. I’m going to be sending postcards to her whenever I get the chance. She’s on my Top Priority postcard list. Give her something to think about, anyway.

 

This time of year always depresses me.  Everyone goes back to school, and first I can’t hang out with the Dude, then my sister goes off to her classes.  Then I go—and this time not to my friends.
