Hi, folks!

 

Caught me a wild internet while hiking around in the desert. Of course, it could be the heat talking. But here’s the story.

 

-The Dude’s girlfriend is nice. Took her a while to warm up to us, but once she did we had a good time all around.  Even went hiking to one of the most recognizable features around here, Delicate Arch, although her dad decided to wait at the bottom. It was fun.

-You all had better go see Delicate Arch if you can.  My recommendations for a pleasant hike include comfortable shoes, plenty of water, sunscreen, and not doing it in late June.

-Remember how I said I was going to read? I did. I really liked Princess Academy. It takes the old idea of Lady Lessons and does some really cool stuff with it, showing its effects on a whole village and how it changes everyone’s lives.

-I has fancy-ass sporty hiking sandals that yuppies who want to be outdoorsmen wear!  They’re green.

-I also has some sort of Victorian Heroine Illness.* I’m not having any gross bodily functions (after the first day of snot), but I’m tired and achy and sensitive to light, heat, and noise, and I’ve been lying around sighing a lot. But who cares? I’m on vacation.

-I’m behind on my friendslist.  I hope to catch up in the next few days, but it may take a while.

-Thursday we’re finally going to go river rafting.  We’ve been coming to Moab for ten years and have never done it, although we did try once and had one of the strangest experiences with a tour ever. When I have less of a headache I’ll tell you all about Canyonlands By Night, which I recommend because it was utterly hilarious. This time should be cooler. I will wear my green hiking sandal things.

 

 

*Somebody on my friendslist used that term.  Who was it?
