What I Wish I Was Doing Right Now: Ceramics class. I want to trim my little bowl and cup and see what I can do with those silly bottles, and throw some more stuff on the wheel, and learn about glazes and hang out with Eric and have a good time.
What I’m Actually Doing Right Now: Lying on my bed with my laptop and an old saucepan with all the teflon peeling away, which has been reinforced with two plastic bags in case I suddenly unleash that omelet that’s currently attacking me from the inside, or the flu, or whatever it is.
And it was such a tasty omelet, too. It should not be making the data for my linguistics homework dance around like the numbers did for Russell Crowe in A Beautiful Mind.
Liz: (just returning home) Hello?
Amelia: Ungh.*
Liz: (peers into Amelia’s room) Your class … ?
Amelia: Omelet. Didn’t like me. I have a bucket. (points)
Liz: Ewww. (flees)
Amelia: (shouting after her) Thanks for the sympathy!
Liz: It’s as much as you’d get from Emily.
It’s always nice to know that your friends care about you, isn’t it?
*Actually, the noises I make when I don’t feel good are weird little moaning humming noises. I got this from my mom. I’m not sure why, but it helps.
