Because I Could Use An Extra Life
Apr. 17th, 2007 01:00 amToday I had a great idea for a jewelry project.
I am going to make myself a silver 1-Up Mushroom.*
Just think—what do you always feel like you could use on a lousy day? That’s right, a little boost like that would be a perfect way to make your day a little better. Carry one around with you for them lousy moments, and feel the power.**
However! I am now faced with a dilemma. The Mushroom has gone through several changes over the years, although it’s got two basic forms. So my problem? Retro (sorry, couldn’t find a better image) or modern? I appeal to all of you, though I’m too lazy to see if I can do a poll without a paid account, so just comment! Which do you like? Which shroom shall I use?
Alternate possibility: make one of each, offer them to 妹, have her choose which she wants, and keep the other. (The Dude already gets a Triforce; I have yet to consult 妹 for requests, although she has expressed an interest in another sea serpent ring.)
And just because I found it while doing an image search for 1-Up Mushrooms, have your daily dose of WTF. Warning: While it is PG, it might destroy your brain.
*It could also be a Super Mushroom, since it’s silver.
**I can also argue that it is a religious symbol; someday I swear I’ll post an explanation of the religion I made involving the concept of collecting 1-Ups.
