Invitation To A Mermaid

Normally, I don’t like porcelain dolls—they’re weirdly shaped, and they always look like they don’t like you. And the retail sites online are sickeningly full of pink background under purple text in fluffy curly font, and often have angels and Precious Moments in there too. But I think I want to take this one home and love her forever and call her George. I have always wanted a mermaid doll like this.
I’ve got it all worked out. 妹 still has a doll wheelchair in storage that the mermaid can use for hanging out in the room with us. She can have the bathtub whenever she needs to soak, and some of the rest of the dolls could accompany her if she wants. Amber and Mariposa have swimsuits, and Loke could probably swim a moat in a coat of heavy iron mail. Kuen swims nude, which shouldn’t bug the mermaid herself, at least. Molly hates swimming (goodness knows why they now sell a swimsuit for her), but she can sit along the side. That leaves … Laurel. What sort of swimsuit would a woodfairy wear, do you think? And have I cracked yet?
Now I just need to figure out if I’ve got $40 to spare. I don’t want her to be an eternal reminder of guilt. That would be a bad way to start a relationship.
