Why I’m Not Officially Participating in NaNoWriMo

 

The first time I heard about the concept of National Novel Writing Month, my immediate response was, “How is that different from the other eleven months, exactly?”

 

I’d stick around to blog, but when you’ve got aliens starting a war over the finer points of trophy hunting, you really have to go with it.


EDIT: This is not to say that I finish anything.  It's just that I give myself arbitrary deadlines, write like a maniac, then I don't meet them anyway.

The only response I’ve been able to dredge up to that is “What?”  I mean, not even a “He deserves it!” or “That’s barbaric!” or something even more complicated. Just “What?”

 

I am a litte fuzzy on the death penalty already.  The cognitive dissonance here is not helping.
