So … what is this, anyway?
Woohoo! I totally got me some mail! I love mail! Writing traveling friend, she got married. Musical genius Shakespeare-loving friend, she’s gonna be playing violin at ye Shakespeare Festival all summer. Aunt, she went to Vegas and lost $50 and bought some cards. People are doing things. That’s what life is all about. That and mail.
And Amazon sent me the book on world-building I ordered. Yes! I am a language geek voluntarily doing math! Gaze in awe! I actually like math, believe it or not, and world-building is fun.
Now for some boring news:
Apparently 三年生の日本語のクラスが落とした。The third-year Japanese class I signed up for fell off my schedule while I was looking for viable anthropology classes, and it’s impossible to get back into a Japanese class once it gets dropped, even if you signed up like right at the beginning of registration. So I gotta keep an eye out for somebody who drops it, and meanwhile I’m signed up for a couple of anthropology classes (finally declared it me second major), an astronomy class (just to keep my skill honed), a creative writing class to be dropped if I get back into Japanese, and, for no good reason, aqua aerobics. None of the linguistics classes offered next term are ones I can use for my major, and they don’t sound very interesting anyway, so I be on hiatus.* I’ma try to continue studying Japanese on my own, though, because it’s interesting.

alietf mentioned a job at a pottery painting place, and I totally stole her idea and went to apply for the one in Salt Lake. I just hope artistic merit isn’t a requirement ~ I’ve made some really spiffy things there, but you can’t exactly say I’m a blossoming artistic genius. And of course I’m applying for various Boring Retail Jobs, because it’s in The Rules. With luck I’ll get a job that doesn’t destroy my mind.
Although for tonight, my only real goal is to do some crunches during the Daily Show, study for my ASL final tomorrow, and fool around with world-building. A worthy goal.
