So! Guess who’s not going to Kenya this fall?
Spring, however, is a different story.
Apparently the applications had a bit of a discrepancy about when you actually should sign up for this program, so I was a bit too late. After my patented Melodramatic 40-Second Overreaction, I decided that I was not late for the fall deadline, but in fact extremely early for the following spring one. I’m so sly.
This may actually be better for me. At least it will allow me to work out some more financial and scholarshiply stuff, given that Money Is Tight right now what with doctors sabotaging my mom’s inner workings. So I can make me some cash first.
It may be easier with housing, too. I’m still not sure what I’ma do next year for living arrangements. I was considering renting a house with Liz, Josh, and Emily, but maybe it’d be easier to get an apartment with just Liz. Brita lives in a really nice complex with good rent, and it’s close to campus. I’ll have to talk to everyone about it and see what they say. I don’t want to just withdraw my offer of house to my friends. That would be misleading, and I hate misleading people.
If I go in the spring, I won’t be around here for the marauding hordes of prospective students and their parents, either. Spring has sprung, and out they start pouring. I remember that my own parents thought it was amazing how many Baby Boomers can turn their kid’s college experience into something all about them. A lot of them wondering how they could keep tabs on their pwecious’ e-mail and grades and weekend goings-on. Silly people.
But I got my Sector General book. Time for tea and cookies and science fiction. Ah, self-therapy.
