Hee hee! That's pretty helpful--I was always amazed at how many kids didn't seem to understand that punctuation was telling you a lot about how something is being said. Then I started to realize that some of them didn't quite grasp that the words they READ are the same as the words you use when TALKING. Or something. The concept of "improving reading comprehension" always baffled me, because unless the writer's being a jerk, of COURSE you know what is being said. The words are right THERE.

I learned a lot of words by misreading them, too, and then realizing that it doesn't make any sense. Still do, in fact. Although I still have Tiffany Aching's problem of knowing a lot of words I can't pronounce 'cause I've only READ them. Darn English.
