Another Damn Doll Post

What did I do for Halloween?

Oh, the usual.

Photobucket
Who Killed Kyouko? (And Is She Even Dead?)

Join the girls as they go through flashbacks, fashion montages, superheroics, lava piranhas, and awful movies in order to find the solution to this whodunnit! Goddamn LAVA PIRANHAS, I SAID.

Director’s Commentary:
-Good LORD, that took HOURS. Why did I even do that?
-I am Mia. There is a doll named Mia at American Girl, but there is no doll named Mia around here.
-If you have never declared the floor lava, then I say you are inhuman. Everyone has done this. Variations include acid, thorns, and piranhas, but it’s the same principle.
-The “origami fireball” is a variation on my friend’s “origami boulder.” It makes me laugh.
-It is possible that only Bean will get Loke’s punchline. This is entirely worth it.
-The answer to the question “Does mukumuku even mean anything?” is Yes, yes it does. You can go look it up if you’re curious.
-Oh, come on, my Molly’s a dork. You know she’d do this with that costume. Admit it—you totally would have, too.
-Yes, those are doll clothes hanging in my closet. What? WHAT??
-The answer to the question “Where did that even come from?” is I have no idea. Seriously, I do not remember making that cave outfit. Sure, I can follow my kid logic in making it, but I have no memory of it. But it’s actually sorta cute …
-To preempt the question I always get, yes, Summer has hearing aids.
-Special tutorial for those not in this little corner of fandom: There's a running joke about one fan's Felicity doll having a huge crush on one of the other dolls. There is closet-luring involved. Hence "Felicitize."
-Please report any glitches (missing photos or text, typos, etc.) to the very tired management. Stupid Photobucket. Stupid work.
-Special thanks to Mom, who took most of the Mia pictures. Thanks, Mom!

This is silly, but the Giant Bloated Halloween Album is a tradition [livejournal.com profile] bean_bunny started, and I finally got to participate this year. For more crazy albums, go check out [livejournal.com profile] ag_over_18.

Aw, that was WAY too amusing!

DUDE

BEANIE

BOWSER

Sometimes I still declare the floor lava. Or I play a stepping game with floor tiles. You know, every third tile is safe, or something like that.

Yes. Not to be confused with BABY Bowser. BEANIE Bowser = AWESOME; BABY Bowser = DIE, BRAT.

Tile stepping games! Also respectable.

Halloween albums take forever, for some reason. I think it's because there's so much more crazy than usual. I can usually shoot a normal album in an hour, but the Transformers album took me five hours, and the Star Trek one was shot over three days.

LOKE. AS. PEARL! David's dying for me to do an MST3K album (mostly so he can play Mister TV's Uncle David), but I'm not sure I can get away with it.

This album was awesome and made me LOL, particularly Amber and Danny.

Not to mention the prep time making the costumes ...

Loke was going as Pearl before I was; I did, in fact, steal the idea. She's the resident MST3k dork.

And now you're making me start casting your characters. Since the part of TV's Frank is taken, Nellie is Bobo--or Gypsy. Sara could be Servo or Brain Guy, with Ivy taking whichever she didn't take (probably that'd be Sarvo and Brain Guyvy.) Kirsten's Crow, Jess is definitely one of the Forresters, and Bean would wind up being Mike or Joel. And, of course, the Minis = the Nanites.

Amber and Danny were my favorite part both to shoot and to write. But then, I am a gamer nerd ...

I think my favorite bit is the GIANT HORDE OF DOLLS coming towards you at the sewing machine.

[identity profile] padparadscha.livejournal.com 2008-11-01 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
It wasn't as scary as all that--they kept falling over and knocking each other down, which definitely detracted from the threat.

I do have something of a GIANT HORDE, though, don't I?

[identity profile] kadharonon.livejournal.com 2008-11-01 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes. It is quite excellent.

LOL, Mannheim Steamroller! Did you know that Nikki was cast in a Mannheim Steamroller music video? ;) S'true!

[identity profile] padparadscha.livejournal.com 2008-11-01 09:57 pm (UTC)(link)
'Zat so? I did not know that!

The Steamroller is one of those things you CAN'T convince me is not awesome. Sure, there are BITS that aren't as awesome as the other bits, but overall? I am such a fan.

All I can say is: That kicked ass! I laughed, I cried, I loved it!

I'm relieved to remember that yes, I have declared floor lava. I still do a minor variant on sidewalk cracks, which is more or less extensive depending on how inconspicuous context allows it to be.

that was darling and highly entertaining. Also, wow, I thought I had too much free time on my hands for Halloween...
