Quote of the Day, Weird Fandom Division

A Room of One's Own Day
Fun at Work Day
Anniversary - Macintosh Computer (Apple)

“Mannheim Steamroller’s a great franchise. They sell real music, ambient music, bath supplies, and barbecue sauce!  Oh, and chili lights!”

and

“The eight Fresh Aire albums are the best. They’ve each got a theme: spring, autumn, summer, winter, Johannes Kepler’s story about a trip to the moon, Greek myths, the number seven, and infinity.”

Today’s quote brought to you by my attempts to explain to a friend why I’m a Steamroller fan, warts and all. Because a company that weird must be cool.

Umptybazillion years ago ( aka 1991 ), my first post-college job was working at Radio Shack.

By corporate regs, we had to have Xmas music playing on November 1st.
We had 3 CDs of Xmas music, one of which was MSR. The only one I found tolerable of the lot.

Of course, someone stole it, and the other CD, so we were stuck for the next 2 months listening to the same 42:33 CD of music. Oh how I missed MSR after the first three hours.

Hot cocoa is so much better with spicy spice in it. Try Mocafe!

I love Mannheim Steamroller's music. Just as a, you know, footnote. Though most of what I have seems to be various Christmas albums.

Do they play anything but Christmas music at this point?

Nothing noteworthy anymore, I don't think. Periodically they pop out with another holiday, but I've only listened to the Halloween one.
