Day 4 Without Lappy III

Could not remember the name of that one actor from that one movie. Could not access IMDB for complete filmography and bio. They found me crying in the closet, panicked at lack of instant information retrieval.

Wow, you wait for bathroom breaks?

*grin* Oh, I remembered eventually. If I ever need another, though, I'll let y'all know!

This seems relevant :P They're true for me, at least; my boyfriend and I have three-way transactive memories between him, me, and the Internet.

Edit: department of redundancy department XD

I've been planning a sci-fi wherein one character has a brain implant that gives her instantaneous and total access to the internet. (This is common in the setting, but she also has a brain augmentation so she can process more of it at a time) I've had a lot of fun imagining scenarios that shut off her access, and how completely her personality changes as a result.

Something like this?

Every time I see that comic I want to print it out and frame it.

The Ghost Brigades by John Scalzi has some entertaining stuff about that--although since the Special Forces Soldiers have their BrainPals (TM) from birth, they tend to go catatonic when the things shut down. Which is also a problem if you use your BrainPal to control your parachute. And it goes out while you're in freefall ...

That's part of the premise for Gary on Alphas, except taken further in your case, as I understand it.
