Took a rainbow break at our training session at work yesterday.

It was great. Basically, in the middle of a discussion about the Liberry’s code of ethics or something, somebody yelled “RAINBOW!” So we all stood up and rushed to the window. The clouds had parted just enough for a huge rainbow to appear over the valley for a few minutes. We could even make out its double after a bit of searching. There was lots of oohing and ahhing and shifting so everyone could see.

Then the clouds closed again, and we went back to work.

That is one thing you don’t get around here often—rainbows. But it does make them noteworthy when they show up.

Reminds me a bit of my second year in grad school. I noticed a sundog coming back from my coffee break and pointed it out to my officemates. I think fifteen minutes later, several people had seen stuff, and a crowd of us was on the roof looking at all kinds of ice halos and stuff. It was awesome.
